HURTIG AF HÄLLE (SWE) sunk in Uddevalla winter 2009, salvaged and scrapped December 2010
Hurtig af Hälle laid up in port of Uddevalla 2004
The tug was build by Motala Werkstad in Motala, Sweden, yard no.: 451, as a steam tug 1913 and delivered to Ystad Port Authority as HURTIG. Requisitioned by the South Coast Naval Command, Karlskrona, Sweden in 1940 and became known as HVB hjälpvedettbåt 305. Returned in 1942 to owners and motorized 1953. Sold 1987 to Hälle Hamn AB / Alvar Olsson /, Hälle for 55 000 SEK and the name was extended to HURTIG AF HÄLLE. Was more or less laid up in Idefjord for 16 years before 2002 when she began towing ships for scrapping to Grenaa in Denmark. Got a fire in the funnel during one such trip and was laid up in Uddevalla 2004.
She sunk in the winter 2009
In August 2010 there was some salvage attempt
And in November 2010 she was refloated and berthed and sunk again in shallow waters. Scrapping at site started 6/12 2010 by Stena Metall
